Printing: Toner

Esprix Technologies realizes the complexities involved with dry electrostatic imaging formulations, which are commonly referred to those in the industry as toners. The Esprix team is made up of professionals that have served the toner industry for decades developing new technologies within our own laboratories.

Specialty Toners

Esprix is currently the only independent toner laboratory in the USA. Our group of toner chemists and engineers work with both OEM and aftermarket toner manufacturers to design specialty toners for unique applications within markets such as textile, security, and ceramics.

Our team collaborates closely with the clients throughout the development process from conception to commercialization. Esprix's experienced project managers will construct realistic time lines with deliverables to meet the clients' expectations. Through careful qualitative analysis of the target print engine and its components, Esprix is able to design specialty toner formulations.  These toners are then optimized and their performance is verified via detailed print evaluations both internally and in the field.

In addition to working with toner manufacturers, Esprix also works closely with raw material suppliers to provide independent feedback regarding the performance of their materials within various toner applications.

Charge Control Agents:

Esprix Technologies offers a range of both positive and negative charge control agents (CCAs) for electrostatic imaging. Our CCAs offer both charge stability and improved image performance.

Our Nano CCAs enable better dispersion within the toner particle and thus more uniform charging. We provide both black and colorless CCAs.

TRIBO-XP™ 79  patent pending     CBI*

Esprix's positive and negative charge control agents can be custom tailored to your requirements.

Waxes:

The Esprix Specialty Wax line includes paraffin, microcrystalline, and proprietary formulation.

Features:

  • Low melting (60-80° C)
  • Sharp melting
  • Dispersible in aqueous systems
  • Low volatility

Benefits:

  • Balanced compatibility with commonly used binders allows for good release in oil-free fusing
  • Functional in low-temperature-fusing environments
  • High functionality in suspension polymerization toners (Chemically Prepared Toner)

Submicron PMMA nano-particles are used widely as toners additives for toner flow, electrification, and drum cleaning for high speed printers.  They are also used as carrier coatings to improve toner release at the fuser roll. Since they are hydrophobic materials they are not influenced by humidity and are extremely stable in the toner printer environment.
