Toner Technology: Resins/Binders/Waxes
Toner Technology: Resins/Binders

The Esprix resins line includes polyester resins. These products have been used successfully in color toner development. The polyester product is a branched, partially cross-linked product that has shown enough flexibility to actually replace polyester/styrene acrylic blends in toner applications. The polyester resin is suitable for low-energy-fusing and has demonstrated success in color toners.

Toner Technology: Waxes

The Esprix Specialty Wax line correlates with today's fusing section. The wax line offered is a result of over 50 years of development expertise. The products feature various petroleum grades that include paraffin, microcrystalline and proprietary converted products designated as specialty products. Both traditional and chemically prepared toners will find these products of high functionality in their toner matrix.

Features

  • Low melting (60-80° C)
  • Sharp melting
  • Dispersible in aqueous systems
  • Low volatility

Benefits
  • Balanced compatibility with commonly used binders allows for good release in oil-free fusing
  • Functional in low-temperature-fusing environments
  • High functionality in suspension polymerization toners (Chemically Prepared Toner)

Paraffin Waxes

Paraffin wax products offered by Esprix consist of straight-chain hydrocarbons with approximately 20-35 carbons per molecule, which results in molecular weights of approximately 300-500.

Specialty Waxes:

The specialty wax line includes products aimed at specific segments within the toner industry that feature purified fully refined paraffin waxes. These waxes are also very useful in TTIR (Thermal Transfer Ink Ribbon). Unique Ester waxes available.

Petroleum: Microcrystalline Paraffin

Synthetic: Ester, Maleated, PAO, PE
